I've just met up with a bunch of Skimpy crew, picked up a big campervan RV and stocked up on supplies. Now we are about to head off into the desert to join the festival!
If you have never heard of Burning Man Festival check out
www.burningman.com or even better google for images of it. It's amazing, it's incredible, it's life changing. I've been fortunate enough to have been 3 times previously and I rate them as some of the best experiences of my life.
Most people's understanding of Burning Man is that it's a big hippy festival where everyone is naked and high on drugs. Yes, there is that but it's so so much more. A huge variety of people attend, everything from hippies to college kids to families to retired couples to Buddhist monks. One minute you could be talking to a passionate vegan environmentalist who lives on a commune, the next minute to a dentist. And certainly not everyone is on drugs, you can if you want but you certainly don't have to to enjoy it.
What I love most about Burning Man is that everyone can express anything they want and be absolutely accepted. As long as you respect yourself and other people you can say, do, wear and be anything. That's very special and incredibly unique.
Regardless of who you are, your age and where you come from everyone can get something from Burning Man. While it's getting harder to get a ticket and not everyone can make it to Nevada, USA there are regional events happening all over the world.
Look into it.
